When foods are processed and altered you are taking protein, fat, and carbohydrates away from the food. This in turn gives chronic malnutrition to the consumer because of the processed food. Most real foods consist of a blend of protein, fat, and carbohydrates. Not all processed food is bad, only the foods that are almost 40 percent processed and more. The easiest way to improve your nutrition is by buying real food, not processed from your local grocery store. Another way to improve your health is to eat fewer foods like high-fructose corn syrup, saturated fat, or even salt. Virtually all foods undergo some form of processing before they are eaten.
Vitamins and minerals serve as a very important part of your body, with out you’re you wouldn’t be able to survive for very long. Vitamins and Minerals have a very important role in nutrition. Vitamins are organic substances found in tiny amounts in almost every food. Vitamins are needed for carrying out important functions of the body. Many Vitamins are involved in the utilization of major nutrients like proteins, fats, and carbohydrates. Even though they are needed in such small quantities they are essential for a good, strong, healthy body.Mineral nutrients serve as the structural parts of your skeletal system, blood proteins, enzymes, and certain hormones and vitamins. Your body uses minerals to produce energy. As you can see Vitamins and Minerals are essential in every day life, and for health. With out Vitamins and Minerals your body wouldn’t be able to function.

Another part of Nutrition is eating healthy. Not many people eat healthy. We eat fat, and sugar filled foods. We don’t stop and eat. We are usually on the go and eating foods from McDonalds, or Burger King. If you’ve ever stopped and thought about what was in those things you would get sick. What we need to do to eat healthy, is that we should follow the food pyramid. The food pyramid says that you should eat a lot of whole grains, a lot of vegetables and fruits, a lot of dairy products, a lot of meats, and a little bit of sugars and snacks. If you follow the guidelines of the Food Pyramid you should get the right nutrients and your diet should become healthier.
